I have lost the test case for this problem. :-(
Apparently, I captured the disk image a bit too late.
I believe that the FreeDOS "format" or "SYS"
command "fixed" whatever was wrong with the USB stick
MBR or partition boot sector.
I will try to recreate the problem, but for now
