Hello Travis, thanks for your considerations. Actually, the advantage of ESpeak as a synthesiser is mainly for non-English speakers like me, because of the vast range of languages supported by it. I also think that any solution would be better than no solution, including generation of wave file

I've not looked at espeak for dos, but I do seem to recall there was another dos screen reader called tiny talk. I don't recall if it came with source, but if the author of that program could be found, and if source is available, perhaps it could be added to the distro. It could use the p
