Have you tried DOSBox? (http://dosbox.sourceforge.net)
It emulates DOS under any OS, including XP.
It's particularly focused on VOGONS (Very Old Games On New Systems), though
I admit I don't actually know whether this is the case...

http://fdos.org/kernel/? Especially if your computer does
not have a floppy disk drive, this may fix a "Bad
