When I finally gave up on WinMe, I switched to Win2K instead of
XP for precisely that reason.

according to validator.w3.org, the new design is more like
HTML 4.01 than like XHTML. That is okay for me, but then
the header should not refer to XHTML... ;-).
Other errors:
- there is no table "bordercolor" attribute
- XHTML probably wants x="y" syntax for attributes, not x=y?

I have installed FDOS on disk and can use in the menu only selection 3
(HIMEM XMS) or 4 (no drivers at all). With the two others it will tell me,
it cannot find command.com.
Can anyone tell me, how to use NTFS4DOS, so it's loaded automatically when
FDOS starts.

A lot of the errors you mention actually come from the webring nav
stuff, which I have no control over. If you want to validate, you
need to omit the webring stuff:

The next problem, I get an error when writing to FDCONFIG.SYS, even if FDOS
not running?
I tried to copy some part from the CONFIG.SYS from the NTFS4DOS Floppy to
FDCONFIG.SYS.

XOSL is very good, has a very nice GUI... the only problem is, that it
must have a FAT16/32 partition, BUT...
after some years I decided to create an extra small partition for boot
managers. It is saver ;-)

NTFS4DOS has one problem...it isn'T a TSR you can start it at
commandline or autoexec.bat and it will start a second layer of
command.com. This will eat memory of 640k but should work with most
programs.

I like the open source program GAG for this. It doesn't require a partition
and I find it MUCH easier to set up and configure than GRUB. It isn't
quite as pretty, but you only see it for a few seconds.
