I'm using a Freedos system on a play computer, a PIII coppermine system.
I'm also multi booting Windows 98SE and Windows 2000. Question is,
should I be multi booting or should I be emulating all of these OSes
from a more powerful OS on a more powerful computer?

Without getting into too technie, but you have to know that FreeDos is just
a guest O/S within a VM, so it's impossible to control the font as you want
it to be. How the display is fitted to the real physical screen depends on
the virtualization program -- in your case, it's VMware Player.
Howeve
As Eric mentioned, FLTK is cross-platform, it can be used with Linux,
Windows, Apple MAC plus my port for DOS.
So if you develop applications with FLTK for DOS these can easily be ported
to Linux, Windows and MAC. This will provide a larger user base for an
application than if it would run on
My FLTK/Xlib port supports Unicode and truetype fonts. This allows to use
Unicode character sets with DJGPP.
