So we now know that you have to use a non-ancient UDVD2
version for CD audio playback (not the FreeDOS 1.2 one)
and we know that the new version works on real hardware,
as confirmed by Vladimiro off-list.
So he must have either used an old version of UDVD2, or
PCEM fails to emulate somethin

I hate to even suggest this, but are you using the /B option on the file
copy to indicate that a binary copy is needed?
That didn't fix the printing problem. It's the same with /a. The first
5.1 lines of a text file got printed.
