How did you change the floppy? I mean, did you just choose one
image file after another? Or did you *remove* the current floppy
image *and then* choose the next one?

Without getting into too technie, but you have to know that FreeDos is just
a guest O/S within a VM, so it's impossible to control the font as you want
it to be. How the display is fitted to the real physical screen depends on
the virtualization program -- in your case, it's VMware Player.

I'm curious to know how are all these related to *USB* keyboard???

For the record:

OK, thanks. I see, so "install the kernel" is just actually
simply "replace the kernel.sys file". He could have said this in
simple words.
I'm just using the official live CD provided in the website.
What ISO editor do you advise?
TIA

Hi,
In a previous mail, dos386 suggested me "FreeDOS manually using

I've done some Google search on "freedos kernel 2038", "freedos

I had already checked BIOS for something like "legacy" but
there's nothing like that in this model, so I could but suppose

DELL OptiPlex 745, but this time, I was able to press 2 to enter safe

I've also tried another USB keyboard in OptiPlex GX620 but still
the same problem happened.
I could help you investigate further the problem, if you tell me
what to do.
I'm still using FreeDOS 0.84 (I know it's quite old) with some
DELL computers. In DELL PC Bios, some offer pure SATA or combined
SATA/IDE. If pure SATA is enabled, FreeDOS 0.84 is unable to "see"
those hard disks.
Is this changed in the newest version of FreeDOS? I've seen no
mention
