Your $PATH is probably preferring the system (BSD) make.
What does 'make -v' say?
make - v
Makefile, line 10: Could not find Make.inc
make: fatal errors encountered -- cannont continue
it seems line 10 of Makefile is looking for Make.inc - which doesnt exist,
only Make.inc.in

i tried again (this time with make -v) and its the same...
