So, for the sake of 'clean' configs I reinstalled freeRadius 2.0.5 (which I

Hi,
I have been trying to setup freeradius to kick off a billing script when
after accounting log is stored in DB, but I still can't get it to work and I
don't know why.
The two lines I have in acct_users are:
DEFAULT Acct-Status-Type = Start
Exec-Program = /home/billing.sh
Hi,
What are some possible causes in 2.0.4 for the radacct (MySQL) and
radutmp (That feeds radwho) to get out of sync. It seems almost 100% of the
time, radwho/radutmp isn't showing the user, while radacct has no acctstoptime.
Thanks, Tuc

Hello list,
Has anybody implemented CoovaAP with FreeRadius talking to LDAP (Win
2003 Active Directory)?
I've been attempting to configure CoovaAP to authenticate against
Active Directory using FreeRadius binded to LDAP. The LDAP binding
goes fine. I can also successfully authenticate a user

Don't use the 'acct_users' file. You can run scripts directly from

You can't authenticate chap against ldap (AD). Use pap or mschap

Hi everybody:
I am going to planify a new infrastructure with FreeRadius. I would like to
ask to you, whats the rule to planify the use of proxy servers for the size
in users or the size in use or the redundancy?
Thank you from now

much hint
Could you give some suggestions how I can get the billing script to run?
Thanks,

That don't work. The entries are module names, not lists of parameters.
Read the example for the exec module to see how to execute a
specific program. See the echo example.

Yes, That's exactly my point. CHAP will not work.
We've been using the internal Chillispot captive portal on a WRT54GL
running the CoovaAP firmware. Is there any way of using that internal
captive portal but having it send PAP passwords instead of CHAP? It
would be much easier for my configuration

You should ask that on the Chillispot list. I am sure there is a setting
to make portal use pap instead of chap.

Ask the linux distributions. They re-package and re-name files for
their own reasons.

try with x-wrt have coova-chilli-xwrt and iw-freeradius and
webif-mesh-hotspot-setup.
webif-mesh-hotspot-setup install and configure coova-chilli and freeradius-1.6
for local users and you can add proxy server where
you want autenticate.
Maybe you can use that like gide.

Hi,
I don't know this is right or not, here is what I did:
1. Add the following cluase to the module section of radiusd.conf:
execbill {
program = lua /home/anne/billing.lua %{Acct-Session-Id}
input_pairs = request
output_pairs = reply
}
2. Add execbill
Yeah, you need to define the instance as:
exec execbill {
}
See Also exec echo just below exec. As I understand it, that's
how you say, I'm defining an exec module called 'execbill'.
(IMHO, the default config could eliminate some of this frequent
confusion if it were changed to, say,

Which is documented in the modules section of radiusd.conf. Which
is shown in the echo example, which he was told to read.
