After consulting with Opentext, the company that makes Exceed 3D, it turns out that the problem as described earlier was a Mesa GLX compatibility issue (and thus not directly related to freesurfer.): This solution solved the problem: --- The OpenGL page is available only if you have Exceed 3D

Hi Daniel You get permission denied because you need write permissions for /usr/ lib ( wherever libtiff.so.3 is ). If you think you have the permissions, prefix your ln command with a sudo and it'll ask for your password, and that should work successfully. If you don't have permissions,

Hi David, I usually get PETSC errors when I have files from a previous unsuccessful runs of cvs and mri_cvs_register is trying to overwrite the same set of files. I've always found that deleting all the cvs related files before starting mri_cvs_register from scratch usually solves the issue. You
