I see. You will need to sample it onto the surface before you can use
mris_divide_parcellation.

I'm not sure I understand. Are you trying to import an existing
parcellation that has more parcels than the ones we use? Or something else?
If the former, is the parcellation already on the surface? If so, you can
always use our matlab tools to write it into an annotation file that
