Hi Jeff,
Your input would be very helpful, I just wanted to understand where the
problem is and contribute the way I can.
I see you're the assignee, so please go ahead and let me know if there is

We discussed build integration related issues a few months ago with Mike and
seemed to find a solution which would work for both UniMRCP and FreeSWITCH

Hi Jim,
From conceptual viewpoint, mod_unimrcp is just an alternate implementation of
an abstract ASR/TTS interface FreeSWITCH provides.
Therefore you can use it exactly the same way as other ASR/TTS modules.
See scripts/javascript/ps_pizza.js in FS tree for a working example.

Surely it would be better to use Sofia's list instead and I already did it, but
have got no response so far.
Overall Sofia-SIP is a good library, which works reliable enough on Linux, but

I should clarify that we support the dtmf tones plus flash but no other tones

Seems you have not to support other tones, because they are declared as
deprecated in RFC4733 (See also a companion RFC4734). Flash is deprecated

VXML is not only interesting but required concept.
I'm not talking about VXML itself, but presence of specification. I still
remember my confusion, when initially thinking about media and call control
dialogs and interfaces I found out XML based languages such as VXML and CCXML.
