Headings are better, nice :) And I like the TOC. But please re-add the
note that Graham Asher proof read the text! And I apparently forgot one
instance of "toggable" that should be "toggleable".

Thanks a lot! Now committed, with minor changes. I've also added a
small TOC for better navigation. Please check.

Regarding the freetype.org documentation stuff, I don't have the time
(and admittedly the interest) to do a move. Nikolaus, do you
volunteer to set up everything? If yes, could you give an outline of
the necessary steps?
Yes :) Neither ETAs nor outlines yet because I actually have no idea ;)

@Graham: Thanks a lot, I applied your corrections whole-sale :) Scream
if I overlooked something. And thanks for the compliment ;)

Is this addressed to Werner? I personally would vote in favor of moving
the FreeType site and main code repository to GitHub, simply because
it's the most popular service with the largest user base and has nice

(a) I have no idea about such site generators.
I was thinking about something like Jekyll, which is used by GitHub for
project blogs etc. It's basically a template and text transformation
engine, you write templates for your site and content (posts, docs, ...)
in e.g. Markdown. The generator

Thank you, I enjoyed it and noticed a typo: auto-shinter.
Perhaps, you are right, Ubuntu cares about the font appearance the
most. If you get them on board, the rest will follow. Do you know
anybody?
Yeah, I noticed the typo, too ;) Notified Werner.
I sadly don't know any Ubuntu-eans. What

Comments on Phoronix indicate the obvious: people do not read beyond
the default LCD filter change, which is related,

You've done a good job in docs describing it in
http://www.freetype.org/freetype2/docs/reference/ft2-lcd_filtering.html
anyway. I suggest removing this filtering

Basically, I don't object. Here a bunch of things that come to my
mind.
(a) I have no idea about such site generators.
(b) I *hate* working with HTML :-) On

Aah! OK, your stuff is highly welcome. To proceed, please clone the
freetype-web repository and provide real HTML files :-)

The text looks ok (there are some minor typos here and there).
However, I don't understand what you want to say with `that I want on
freetype.org' — I thought this is text for *your* blog, isn't it?
Ah, so I was ambiguous. I don't have a blog, I wrote this for
freetype.org :) Release
FreeType 2.6.2 has been released.
It is available from
http://savannah.nongnu.org/download/freetype/
or
http://sourceforge.net/projects/freetype/files/
The latter site also holds older versions of the FreeType library.
See below for the relevant snippet from the CHANGES file.
Nice :) I think 2.6.2 packs quite a punch. Maybe users will see it at
work in 2 years or so when distros upgrade ;) So have you had time to
look over my blog post thing that I want on freetype.org? I think users
and (Linux) news outlets such as Phoronix might care.
