I'm running Freevo on very old hardware (500P3, G200, framebuffer). I'm finding the XMTV and the record functionality of Freevo too complex (and too slow) for my simple needs. I would like to replace the TV option with my own simple frame buffer application that only allows me to program the timer to record at a certain time for given channel and duration. I have the app programmed and it communicates with a daemon which communicates to a microcontroller I built which turns on the computer when it is time to record.
What I need to know is how to call my program from inside Freevo. Whenever I click on TV, I want it to call 'mytvapp'. And when my app ends I want to return to the same spot in Freevo. It seems similar to calling fbxine. Not sure where to look. Can anyone provide me any place to start, what source files to modify or any suggestions?
