I just stumbled upon the thread about the 2-digit feature for direct channel
selection in ivtv_xine_tv. I asked Havaar to submit the patch to sourceforge,
but apparently this did not happen. I have the patch somewhere in my mail
archive, I'll search for it and submit it. It hasn't been tested

Yes for mplayer, but not AFAIK for ivtv_xine_tv.
