I agree; but the trick is to make sure we squeeze vertically not
horizontally EXCEPT for image scaling. i.e. we move the coordinates
towards the middle of the drawable area, but we have to scale the
images vertical/horizontal at the same time.

I think we should use the skin fxd for the fonts; it's consistent with how
everything else works and reduces the number of things people need to
mess with.
