to find the irman. Irrecord then let me create the lircd.conf file. I

What are you *watching* tv with? Mplayer (if exited cleanly (ie no crash))
does this for me, however, mp1e does not. Maybe tvtime (as its based of
mp1e (or vise versa) does the same.

I am currently getting my games working. I have a NES (fceu), a Sega
Master System (sms_sdl), a Super Nintendo (zsnes), and a Genesis (dgen).
The problem the typical setup is "command options rom" but for the
sms_sdl it's "command rom options". Anyway to change the way that is
handled.

I made it its own plugin for easiness to install. Will look into
integrating it as an option to the menu system later. Slap this in your
/usr/local/freevo/src/plugins directory.
activate it in local_conf.py with:
plugin.activate('autobacktomain')

There is a screensaver plugin that saves the screen but for go back to
the main menu currently there isn't something like that. I could
probably hack the screensaver to do that, I'll post a patch later today.

The solution turned out to be pretty simple. I needed to add
plugin.activate('ossmixer')
to local_conf.py. Could this be a default?
With or without the above line, I still see the following error
message whenever I start Freevo.
$ freevo
can't locate plugin mixer
From looking through the source code, it does not look like
VIDEO_SHOW_DATA_DIR defaults to anything (my apologies if I'm wrong).
Although, it appears to only be used for the TV recordings and not for
movies. In any case, my original request stands. Please add an example

I just upgraded from an rc to the release 1.5. When I play some music
it displays the title for about half a second, then skips to the next
track without playing any music. It repeats this for every file in the
directory. I can play the same file just fine with juk or mplayer.

My experimentation seems to demonstrate otherwise. Before running
Freevo, I run...
amixer set Line mute
v4lctl volume mute off
I then run Freevo and watch some TV. I do not hear sound. I run...
amixer set Line unmute
I hear sound. I then exit Freevo. I still hear sound.
OK, here's an odd one, and I'm legitimately baffled.
I am using the xmame/games plugin from freevo, and overall it works
well. But there is a fairly serious problem: when I run xmame from
within freevo, something is preventing rapid keypresses (in other
words, keys pressed close together are int

You can't.

For 1.5.0 (no rc) you can do that.

Not sure if this can be done. Is there a way to check the idle time, and
when the time is met the menu reverts back to the main menu. So if I watch
a movie and fall asleep, when it's over and the sub-menu sits there for say
10 minutes, it will automatically go to the main menu.

Just for the record, I got it working. What I did was to edit the
/etc/freevo/local_conf.py and set the VIDEO_ITEMS to a name, and then
pointed it to the directory with my video...e.g. [ ('Local Movies',
'/root/Movies/') ] . Now when I select Watch a Movie, it goes directly to
that folder and
It's just a warning, it will default to using your video items dir in
the mean time.

I have had similar kind of symptoms with 1.5.0. I have a directory whose
name is not shown correctly. Instead of its own name, one of its
subdirectory names is shown.
In addition, some of my audio directories are not opening any more. They
used to open with 1.5.pre versions. Here is a traceback o

Hello,
Yust found a bug after running freevo cache.
I have about 800 albums of mp3 on my disk, organized as:
"/Artist/year - Album Name/track_no - File.mp3"
In the Music menu all artists are shown except for one entry:
"/Frans Bauer/2003 - Een Ons Geluk/(files)" wich is shown as "Een Ons
