Don't know if it helps but the only issue I have had with python 2.4
on freevo 1.5.3 is that I have to use the ossmixer instead of the
default mixer plugin to control sound. I do not use tv at the moment
though.

I just started the cvs-1.5 version and all seems to work properly with
python-2.4
