fixed my problem it was xorg.conf not having the correct
sizes. now with the correct sizes in xorg.conf freevo plays the movies full
screen on my tv :)

If freevo is started with the good old gentoo init script in runlevel
default, X is starting on VT 2 which leads to a locked desktop, I even
cannot switch to another Console.
So I have to manually add the parameter "vt7" for the start of xinit in
the /usr/bin/freevo script.
