[Freevo-users] How to set $DISPLAY at boot

/rc5.d xdm gets started before freevo. I've already added "export DISPLAY=:0.0" to Xsession, Xservers and .bashrc, all with no effect (e.g. DISPLAY does not get set). My question is now where do I have to make the necessary modifications in order to run freevo right after start-up.
