Once I made sure I had the right version of ffmpeg (I already had
a different version installed, so I figured I'd take a punt and see
if it worked) I didn't have any problems.  Freevo itself seems to
be running just fine.

But I'm running on Gentoo, which means I'm not using the runtime --
everything has been built from source (automatically).  So there are
a whole bunch of library-version issues that could crop up with a
binary distro that are completely side-stepped.  All I had to do
was to remove the existing ffmpeg and libsdl installations and
build/install the new ones.  Everything else Just Works.
