Before Freevo had multiple-encoder support (I'm guessing circa 1.3.4)
the record_daemon added that option itself, but it should be in the
local_conf example.

Cardwise, it's been beautiful for me under mandrake. Simple:
# modprobe bttv
# modprobe btaudio
# modprobe tvmixer
And it's all set, per the dmesg info:

Ive spent the last day or two working with freevo getting it installed,
configured, and working with my Hauppage WinTV card (bt878 chipset).
It's not been an easy task, but 99% of the information has been online,
just not in any one place. Kudos for that much... I've dealt with (too)
many projects
