You sure can. The generic_record plugin (the deault) uses VCR_CMD in
the same way as before.
I.E. I flip a bit on my parallel port to turn on/off an LED on the front of
my tivo box
with the freevo I have set up in the
board room... so it's right on track!

favorite with a non ascii character right now. Or has rob fixed this
