Is it possible to maybe hardcode the poll param to -1 ?
for a dirty workaround?
I've looked through the file xine.py but since I'm not much of a coder I
wasn't able to find a good section to change the poll param.

I have noticed that every time the poll parameter isn't -1 the command
fails to display. Something in the configuration files is wrong, but I
haven't found out what causes the setting of the poll param.

below are the 2 system calls mplayer and xine. The movie runs fine when
using mplayer but xine will not work for some reason.
The errrorlogs of xine are empty so there is no clue to get from there..
