In case anyone is forced to use Windows: I do believe Microsoft finally figured out a nice way to handle X11 with WSL2 in Windows 11. Ubuntu can be installed from the Microsoft Store and when the terminal is brought up it has the DISPLAY variable set by default. No installing/starting a third
