1) concerning using the group method to retain positive features in future
generations -- could we use that in reverse? Meaning, if we think, as I do,
that human population needs to be reduced slowly, if we found groups of
humans who had fewer children, and gave them some sort of incentives to have
long lives, and supported their cultures, and such, would we slowly but
surely provide a means to create a reduction in population numbers?

2) In a similar fashion, could we meld into our DNA other attributes like
friendliness over lack of friendliness, or peaceful problem-solving over
warlike?

Or does that smack of something that is akin to behaviors we don't want to
further?
