At this point it may be more a matter of opinion but MS's future plans do not include any new o/s. They may release a future O/S but it will not be anything as extensive as Vista. I do believe how ever that this is not the place to debate such a matter.

I think that anyone who thinks that Microsoft is near an end is being unrealistic. I think that they are going to have to contend with the challenges imposed by open source operating systems and OSX, but they are a software giant.
