Ahh, thanks a lot. It is always easier to understand someone else's Code if you
are provided with an entry point. Now I can take a look what is wrong with my
setup there and hopefully revert my hotfixes for this ...

I think they're not updated automatically, and they don't need to
because there's some Exim/Postfix magic to handle mailing-lists. Check
the scripts in src/post-install.d/mta-*
