As an additional remark, especially when going from windows to a
unix-like platform, if you ever have edited a conf file on windows, and
didn't use a proper editor, you can have issues when transferring it to
a non windows platform. I had this problem a few years ago when going

You need to use the upgrade_export version R65 for windows to export
your config then use the upgrade_import version R65 for SPLAT to import

Just do it! The files produced by upgrade_export and used by upgrade_import are
platform-neutral. It's one of the real beauties of the system. If you have
applied R65 HFA01 or HFA02, there is a hotfix you'll need to apply for the tool
to work properly, though.

This seems to work on our IPSO 3.7.1 system:
grep ipsrd:instance:default:static /config/active
I don't imagine it has changed much in later IPSO versio
NO, NO, NO. the /config/active file is actually a symlink to a real file
in the /config/db directory . Just be aware of it.

You can configure wire mode (equal bypass bypassing Security Gateway
enforcement and so stateful inspection) if you have a VPN between the subnets.
