When you failed over to the other firewall,
was it doing the same thing? I assume
both are synced and configured the same.
If the second one isn't experiencing
the same problem when it is primary,
I'd say it's some kind of HW issue.

Had a similar problem with voyager and had to
use a free ftp server called bullet proof.

First thing I do is google it.

TRUE DMZ is supposed to be completely closed off
from the internal network. Not sure
what the "service" network they are referring
to consists of, unless it is "allowing some
connections to the DMZ" for servicing?

I'm not sure checkpoint support has ever solved an
issue I had open.
Interesting comparison to the "other" <$500
consultants, though...ha. Do they come with a
guarantee to solve all problems?

Shane,
Is this a temporary thing?
Just my opinion, but if I was you,
I'd find some other way to do it.
Copy the files you need
with some secure transfer protocol or physically
move the data from one system to the other via
tape/CD.
Don't use nfs through the firewall. Even rsync'ing
the data betwe
defined in
the load balancer (virtual ip which is load balanced
to multiple webservers defined in the load balancer).
I've used both Cisco Local Directors, and F5 Big IP
and both worked well for load balancing.

Jeffery,
Never heard of it, but if it isn't free, I wouldn't
bother. Depending on what you want to do, Big
Brother is the best thing you'll ever find to
monitor networks or systems applications.
Any of these other packages you have to buy, and
you'll end up having to extend or modify the package
to
but
definitely recreate the policy files anew (from the
new
gui, which I think is what you mentioned below).

I'd definitely use a separated network.
One environment I'd setup we used a mangement network
(management server was on it, and some other security
servers). We tested this for a while, and it
worked ok, but we later switched it to a dedicated
interface using a crossover cable. This was all while
