I solve the problem. I downgraded the php from 5.2.10 to 5.2.9-r2 (gentoo portage) and working fine. Is this an php bug? Thanks for adding this information! The system that I had the problems with is running php 5.2.3 and the one that it now works on is 5.2.9. Cheers Henning -- View this

That 5.2.3 had issues doesn't surprise me entirely -- our minimum supported version is 5.2.4 in part due to changes and additions to the SPL in that version. Matthew, thanks for the reply. It would have certainly helped if I had read the system requirements section. :-( Cheers, Henning --
