I have tried the paper clip each time it just says the same thing.
tried it for 10 secs then 30 secs then a minute.
If i connect it to my cable modem it allows all the macs in the house
to see it and to connect to the internet and each other, but i can not
admin it and there fore i cannot have

Is there any way to make a powerbook g4 play stereo sound or at least

Every hour at h:13 I get an attempt to connect to the net. I see this in
the log:

What's CCLEngine? Is it just the modem control commands. If so, any
suggestions for evaluating what process that initiates the

I finally, after a false start or two, got my hands on an MCE Wallstreet
optical expansion bay. I ended up with the rarest of the rare, thier
CDRW/DVD-ROM combo drive.
I immediately took it apart and examined its interface PCB, pics here:
Thanks so much Stuart and Nick. I downloaded it to my Utilities folder,
ready if needed. This seems like the easiest way to kill the modem
process.
Only 4 or 5 days until my replacement DSL modem gets here . . .
