I've got a battery that doesn't show up when inserted. I assume it's

It's the only battery I have for this wallstreet. It's been stored for
several years, was fine before that.

IMO, it's a problem with the cache memory on the
Powerlogix CPU card. I've seen this personally on my
iForce card from them on my iMac, and there was a
thread in 2002-2003 on MacInTouch about cache problems
