I am having a problem booting from my DVD ROM drive. I am trying to
just wipe my machine and do a clean install from 10.3 DVD. The disk
reads fine in finder, but no matter what method I try (restart and
boot from, hold down c, or hold down alt) the DVD will not boot.

This is on a Titanium Powerbook. I did not know you could set the
drive between master and slave. I did not see any jumpers on the
drive when I examined it.

Yes it is the original DVD-ROM that shipped on the G4/667 Titanium Powerbook.

No I have tried several different DVDs (10.3 Upgrade, 10.3 Retail my
friend bought, I even tried copying my 10.2 CD to a DVD). Bottom line
seems to be CD boots fine but DVD will not read for startup. Once I
am in 10.3 and open finder disc is there and I can read from it, but
it will not boot.

Yes I have tried through Prefernces, Startup Disk. Allows me to
select the DVD, I hit reboot, Mac then reboots. After reboot displays
the folder with a question mark for a second or two then continues
booting off my hard drive.

and a single G4/733. The
machine will be used mainly for web surfing, e-mail, watching movies,
and also host a VERY low usage FTP server. Does anyone have any
thoughts which would be better?

If I had an extra $500 I WOULD pick up a mini. Unfortunately we are
not all so financially blessed and I need a machine to sit at home to
do more server/dvr work. The portability is not really an issue for
me.

Does anyone know of a product other then .Mac that allows you to store
files online AND have desktop access to the files? Something like the
iDrive product but works with both Mac and Windows.

for a Titanium Powerbook Airport card? Specifically I am looking for
any websites that might have instructions on building one.

have nice fresh XP drivers only a few months old.
Sorry for the rant

OK, like many, the hinges on my Titanium Powerbook have failed. As I
understand it there are 3 basic choices.
1. Replace the whole screen.
2. Risk taking the LCD apart and replace just the hinges.
3. Create some make-shift hinges.
Well option 1 is out, WAY too expensive to replace the whole
