I walked into a good deal on two clamshell ibooks last week. Iım new to the
ibook world and so trying to figure this all out.

The first is a blueberry ibook 300 with 192mb of RAM and a busted display.
The second is a graphite ibook SE 366 with 128 mb of RAM in (from what I can
tell) perfect working order.

Questions:
Can I put 512 mb of RAM in these? I see some websites that say yes, and
some say no.

Can I switch out the optical drives? Both are CD-ROMs.

What is the minimum RAM I can run OSX with ? (Iım still with Jag on my
tower, hoping to go to Panther soon) Both are currently running 9.0.4 and I
am not a 9 fan.

Is the one with the busted display (picture black size 12 footprint in
middle of display) worth fixing? Other than only being able to see part of
the screen it seems to run fine.

Neither will hold a battery charge the prev owner told me they were too
expensive to fix (wanted to use as a laptop without having to plug in). I
donıt think she tried a new battery, I know she bought new yo yo adaptors
thinking that was the problem what else would cause them to not hold a
charge?

Thanks in advance for the help!
