Hello folks,
I have two iBooks. One is an iBook SE (466mhz graphite) with a DVD rom.
[It has been a real workhorse - a great computer.] The other is a newer
12" iBook (1 mhz) with a cd rom [last years model] that I bought from
my Big U's Micro Order Center for a song and a dance. I needed a newer
machine and this one presented itself at a price I could not refuse
even if it did not have all of the options I would really liked to have
had.
I have a couple of questions regarding my iBooks.
The questions are these...
In regards to the older 466 mhz iBook. Is there a device that would
allow me to convert the composite video to VGA video?
I would like to turn it into my living room/DVD player/game computer.
But it does not support VGA video out. I have an old Apple 17" Studio
(B&W) monitor on which I would like to display the video and games.
In regards to the newer 12" iBook... Is it possible to replace the CD
rom with a DVD rom or DVD-RW? i.e. Do the DVD drives require some
hardware that the CD rom iBook would not have built in? And/or is it
just not worth the trouble??
Thanks in advance for any info or advice you might have. - Edli
