;( yes i had this too.. and imho this is a Problem due to Apples fault, at least the Power adapter failures might have to do with the sparkling ( I guess everyone knows this) Also the yoyo is of very poor design..the isolation of the thin power cable (yoyo to computer) on my new yoyo slipped out of the yoyo, and now the cable is blank for ca. 1,5 cm. The yoyo that was defektive showed a darkening at the cable where it comes out of the plug that goes into the pismo.. I was 2 Months over the 1 year warranty ( germany, and no Apple care) but insisted on getting one new for free .. (first for the failing of Apples Quality..second because I had this too with the Power adapter of my old 190cs..and last not least for the exorbitant price apple would take for a new adapter: about 200 German marks = 100 Euro) My dealer meant, there would be now way getting a new one for free, so I phoned to Apple Ireland, and told them that I am very annoyed about this, and Apples Quality issues, maybe because of this maybe because of the other Apples I bought, they gave me a warranty extension for the adapter..and I got a new for free.. The new one now is working for about a year..but how I mentioned above, it also has this sparkling and the worn out cable..this I think will result sooner or later in the failing of this device too..;( There might be a way to repair the adapter..but its clued and not screwed..and I didnt try to open it, because I had to sent it back to Apple in order to get a new in exchange.
