Mine works fine, you did everything necessary, which is to install it. 512 MB
chips were not tested by apple, but it works. (so does 128 MB in an SE/30).  It
definitely sounds like a bad SO-DIMM, so get an RMA from them and get them to
replace it.  Mine flies with 640 MB of RAM and hasn't crashed yet.
