RAM Type in the iBook 12' 800Mhz and 1Ghz are both PC2100 DDR SDRAM and
in the Pismo SO-DIMM, which explains this situation. Is it the 800 or 1.0
you have?

I just took the 512 chip out of my Pismo I am planning on selling and went
to put it in my 12 iBook and to my surprise, the slot isn't long enough to
hold the chip. Do I have to get a special chip just made for the iBook?
