You can't select the disk icon for one of the partitions on the LaCie? I boot my Pismo and Clamshell both from LaCie external firewire drives by simply holding down the option key and selecting the partition and then clicking the right arrow.

Further to my earlier email about booting from a La Cie d2 120 mg firewire drive connected to an iBook 900 mhz (640 mg/40 gig) running 10.3.2, holding down the option key while booting results in a screen with 3 options, the drive on the ibook, and the 2 drives I created on the La Cie. To the left is an arrow in a circle, and to the right is an arrow pointing right that looks like a button.

I get what the computer is trying to tell me, but I can't seem to get any key or trackpad maneuver to shift the selection to one of the firewire drives before the system proceeds to boot from the iBook. Any ideas?

Bye-the-way, I have confirmed that the firewire drives work well as boot drives if selected as startup volumes. Carbon Copy Cloner is very cool.
