I received helpful feedback from a few listers and here is my experience: I went for the Airport card instead of the Orinoco on Laurent's advice. Install was easy, signal strength is strong and I won't have to go searching for 3rd party drivers. I bought a Netgear MR314 Wireless Router based on a MacWorld review. Set-up and installation was intuitive and simple. Now for the bad part. WINDOWS!!! (on my kid's PC). For the life of me, I couldn't get Windows to connect to the router through the (brand new, correctly installed) Linksys Ethernet card. After a few hours of teeth grinding and cursing the WinTel universe, I bit the bullet and called my ISP's support. Luckily I got a fellow who (in a voice as flat as a 50's movie Martian) led me deep into the hidden recesses of the "C" drive. There we slashed and burned our way through innumerable guardian files standing between the TCP/IP software and the Ethernet card. Battle with the NetBEUI's (!!!) was particularly bloody. When the smoke cleared, on the screen was a connected Browser page ready for surfing. Victory! A word of advice: Set up your network connection manually. Try to avoid the ISP's installation disk as it just confuses the issue with unnecessary software and installation procedures. The important software is your TCP/IP control panel, selecting the correct connection method (Ethernet, or wireless) and your username and password.
