Some of the pertinent background follows. I decided to try to
re-install without spending money yet. So I tried doing it with only
one of the RAM sticks installed in the bottom. I erased and formatted
the drive with the Panther CD. I am thinking maybe I don't need 9
anymore on this machine. Th
