Actually, if you'll check ResExcellence:

http://www.resexcellence.com/

they have a section of different boot screens (including a larger version 
of the "Happy Mac") and instructions for how to change the default ("ugly 
looking sort")...

There are some pretty nice boot screens there, for those running Jaguar.
