I guess I committed an ultimate no-no. Sorry about posting for manuals. I
didn't realize the ramifications. IMO Apple sure makes it difficult for
small school district tech people trying to help the bottom line cost wise
and trying to keep machines in working order in classrooms. I'm not talking
about many cpu's just the one or two that fail after the warranty is over.
Don't get me wrong, I love the products and Apple does a lot for education
but I hope someone in upper management at Apple is watching what the state
budget is doing. California schools are going to have watch every penny they
spend and when that happens the first thing to go is money spent on
technology. I could sure sell the cost of repairing a machine in-house
before asking for money to - ship the machine or drive it to the local
repair facility (50+miles) + cost to diagnose the machine + cost for
parts... The different plans they offer for in-house repair training are out
of my reach also. I feel that Apple needs to loosen the reigns on this
service thing. Just my feelings. If anyone has any ideas I could run by my
district administrators I'm open to suggestions.
