Some Lombards can't/won't install OS X due a problem with the CPU and/or memory. You may want to check out the macfixit. com web site under the portable macs forum for the threads on problems. Some things to try from the threads reseat the CPU and RAM install OS X with only the original Apple

Kevin: I've run it on a Lombard and it runs fine, better than Jaguar. One caveat... as with any version of OS X... RAM, RAM, RAM... the more the merrier. It will run in 192MB but I'd personally put in as much RAM as possible if I was using this machine as a daily workhorse. For ram pricing,
