The real issue (if it is) is that his machine cannot
boot into OS 9 to access pre-OS X fonts.
 
In fact, I have copied fonts from OS 9 into OS X
folders that are inaccessible when booting into
Jaguar.
But this allowed me to activate those fonts and/or the
languages and keyboard characters they are used with.

I don't have all the details you asked for, and I
don't think merely copying the problematic fonts from
OS 9 folders would activate all of them in OS X. 

Is Panther better or worse with pre-OS X fonts?
 
The graphic artist is using authorized versions of
Photoshop, etc.

Is there a better place to discuss 'Jaguar font
problems'? I tried newsgroups, but that's taking way
too long.
