A few things:

I use BootCD (v0.6) for OS X. Up until recently there was no OS X version, but I just tried it again and although it took some time (6+ minutes), it worked. (another reason for me not to partition...)

I have an airport card and a Belkin wireless router with an iMac and my son's PC hooked up through ethernet. It took calling their tech support for my Pismo to recognize the router (needed to use channel 7) but it works great for $49 from Best Buy. I second the opinion that "b" is plenty fast. I see no reason for me to upgrade to "g" speed and I like the fact that nothing is sticking out of the side of my laptop.

Now for a couple of questions that I think have been covered before but I need a refresher:

Is there anything I can do about the pink tinge on the bottom left-hand corner of my screen? I replaced the upper plastics of the bottom of my computer and noticed the coloring immediately after. Maybe just be the age of my machine or did I damage some component? I took it pretty much all apart to replace the PCMCIA cage.

And lastly, should I encrypt my home wireless system? Anything hard about setting up WEP? If I just follow the instructions will I be OK? I seem to remember something about using a specific symbol for Macs...

Oh and one more... Over on the PowerList there was quite a bit of difference of opinion about using someone else's wireless connection. I was at my daughter's soccer game and sitting on the sidelines I could pick up 3 different wireless connections from the nearby neighborhood. Am I at risk to use these to get online? (I did... surfing the net at halftime on a spring day from a comfortable chair made up for the fact we lost the game...somewhat...)

Thanks for any info,

Dan-
