Subject: Lots of G3 wallstreet internal modem disconnecting- seen this before? From: Sid Barras
Hi all,
My internal wallstreet modem is constantly dropping out, plus it connects at slower speeds (48000, or 49333 as opposed to 50000 to 52000) compared to the global village 56k buscard modem I had been using in my previous workhorse, the pb 1400.

Same thing happened to me. After a year or so of working flawlessly, the internal modem started to disconnect apparently at random, and after much troubleshooting, I gave up and bought a 56K PC Card modem. That was a year ago, and the PC Card modem is still going strong.
The internal/ A tech told me that maybe it received a "spike' and that is why it acted so strange.
So get the GV modem on that WS, I had one once and it was the fastest modem I had, consistently connecting at 52K, while the MegaHertz that I have now tops at 48K.
