I also have a slow Internet connection, ever since I've had PacBell, 3 1/2 years ago. I am only getting around 316K on my G4 iBook, and between 100K to almost 300K on my PowerMac 7300/500.
I've called PacBell many times. They have come out to inspect the lines inside and outside, and down the street in several directions, but still have not been able to fix the problem.
