Sorry if this is obvious... I'm running OS X 10.2.5 on my Pismo.
It's always run fine on the machine, but recently I've started getting a
wait cursor when I start up some applications. Things like Terminal and
Safari will load up and display, then hang with the wait cursor for
almost a minute. With Terminal, I won't get the command prompt until the
wait cursor goes away. I haven't run any software updates in a while,
the last one was several weeks before this started happening. Running
top doesn't show anything hogging a bunch of resources. Restarting the
PB doesn't resolve the issue, either. I'm pretty familiar with Unix, but
new to OS X. Does anyone have any ideas for things to check?

        Thanks in advance,

Jim Anderson
